There was a meeting of the Carnbee and Arncroach Community Council on Monday 6th March 2017 in Arncroach Church Hall. Present were Ian MacIntyre (Chair), Adrian Snowball, Janet Lodge, Helen Blyde, Natalie Ridge and Cllr Riches. Apologies from Robert Watson, Cllrs Docherty and MacGregor, Andrew Stevenson. There were 13 members of the public present. 1) Minutes of the meeting on Dec. 5th 2016 were approved. 2) No matters arising. 3) Gillingshill. Stuart Provan had given an estimate of £636.00 (incl.VAT) for tree and drainage work. This was discussed and accepted. It was agreed to ask him to do some more drainage work on recently flooded paths and to check all fences. 4) cdt. Still no date for an AGM. Is the cdt still legally in existence? 5) Roads. i) potholes – contact ross.walker@fife.gov.uk ii) to prevent HGV’s going through the Carnbee lane could there be a ‘NO HGV’ sign at both ends? III) could there be a ‘Hidden Dip’ sign at the Lochty end of the Carnbee road? iv) flooding at many places – on Carnbee – Arncroach road, on Newton road, at Balmonth junction. Drains need attention. Peat Inn junction will be repaired at Scottish Water’s costs. Ovenstone – Pittenweem road will be closed for drainage work 13-17 March. 6) Councillor’s Report i) new road surfacing for roads with particularly bad bends eg Balchristie & near Crail. II) there is a certain amount of money for groups wanting to take over local buildings eg redundant library buildings 7) Treasurer’s Report £441. 19 in bank 8) Planning Nothing controversial. Comielaw farmhouse, Spalefield Lodge. Agricultural sheds at Ovenstonemuir were approved. AOB a) Broadband. Nothing happening. A newsletter coming soon. b) new flight rules for Edinburgh airport do not affect our area. c) This was Cllr Riches final appearance before retiring in May. The community made a small presentation and expressed heartfelt and warm thanks to her for her advice and support in the past. Next meeting – June 5th 2017
